CEO watches the car park and sends emails if you leave at 3 to pick your kids up. This feels degrading. You'll be expected to put hours in over evenings and weekends. These hours feel invisible though, as if only in-office hours count. Three rounds of tech redundancies in the last year have left the technical staff worn down and demotivated. You must work core hours, three days in the office. No good reason was ever given for this. It used to be a lot more flexible. Internal promotions are arranged seemingly at random, sometimes they're interviewed for with fairness, sometimes they're just handed out to the manager's favourite with no process. Cost of living pay rises stopped a few years back, as did in-role pay rises for top performers. Pay levels are poor compared to the rest of the industry.
