Vantaggi
Worked in Video Review first for Zefr, then stayed on when the department was sold to Vobile. I generally liked the people I worked with. For a long time, was a flexible, comfortable, decently paying job, but that changed drastically in 2024.
Svantaggi
Started getting micromanaged and had workload doubled mid-2024, from a very manageable workload with nothing but stellar performance reviews for years, after my past manager worked with me around a repeat-use injury that had become debilitating in 2020. Injury resurfaced as a result of trying to meet the increased workload, and even though my output increased, and I informed management about my injury, was never able to meet the new KPIs they put on us, and was let go for "Poor Job Performance".
Was on a wage freeze for years. Was making 75% of what I could make when I first started the job nine years before, accounting for inflation, when I was fired.
Firing was a bait and switch, had a scheduled one-on-one video meeting with my direct manager, showed up and instead of them, was two managers above them (and no HR), and one other employee like me. They informed us that we were both terminated, that our messaging was already shut off, and that our emails would be shut off after the meeting. Tried to get us to sign a "Termination Agreement" during the call, which I declined to do, and that was that. Didn't even get to say goodbye.
Investment in activities budget was obviously dropping year over year,
Were recently informed PTO would be closely watched.
Overall just became less and less of a good place to work from the fun and personal start-up the department was a decade ago.
