Compensation is usually very competitive making it easier for managers to attract and retain good talent. Personnel are generally very adept at overcoming obstacles. There is a high degree of solidarity between team members when facing challenges.

The company struggles to produce truly innovative products and features, typically playing it safe with "me too" features. The culture also can be highly adversarial which typically has a very stifling effect on innovation because innovation involves becoming good at failing gracefully and learning from and building on those failures. Finger pointing kills this necessary innovation feedback loop. Innovation also requires a solid process pipeline from ideation all the way through to customer delivery and support. There is little institutional knowledge and support of what this is actually supposed to look like.
