Great people. WET manages to attract a lot of really interesting, smart, and creative people to work at there. It's great to get to know these people and work with them. Onsite Manufacturing. Whether it makes good business sense or not, WET makes a lot of its own products in-house. As a mechanical engineer, I found the on-site manufacturing equipment and personnel to be extremely helpful to validate my designs as well as teach me about new production processes. I came into this job looking for more experience designing products that I could be involved in from cradle to grave, and I definitely got that. The physical environment. The campus is pretty, the fancy automatic espresso machines are nice, the front desks are staffed by attractive girls dressed like they're going out to a club (and one attractive guy). We had tall desks with stools so you could sit or stand, which was nice.

This is where the broken record part comes in...it seems like WET has been operating in much the same way for a very long time, and will continue to do so until it finally goes bankrupt or something happens to Mark. If you read through the negative reviews on Glass door dating back for several years, they generally have very similar complaints. This is because those complaints are based on systemic problems that are never addressed. Poor financial management, lack of thorough project planning, pushing unfinished products out the door to get paid, a revolving door for middle management and engineers, the resulting shortage of institutional "tribal knowledge", the list goes on. Instead of addressing these issues which are driven from the highest levels, it seems like the blame is just dumped on middle and low level employees who are viewed as expendable. So, if you want to get a few months of experience doing quick turnaround design work and troubleshooting, and you don't really care about having a stable workplace, a stint at WET might be OK for you. However, if you need stable finances, or like the idea of working at a company for a few years before moving on, or just want to feel appreciated in a professional environment, then STAY AWAY.
