Within the tech teams, promotions and career advancement opportunities are largely dominated by a "good old boys club." New management roles are often created specifically for certain software engineers, who are predominantly white and male. At the same time, QA Engineer positions are being significantly reduced. Many skilled and dedicated QA engineers are either denied meaningful growth opportunities or offered only limited ones, while some of the least capable software engineers are quickly promoted without question.
