Enormous county with many teaching opportunities. Better pay than some NC counties.

WCPSS loves to "Wake-a-fy" curriculum materials their way - often taking excellent materials and requiring teachers to cut-out, amend, or change curriculum for the county's bizarre reasons; resulting in sacrificing the curriculum's intent, removing the excitement and engagement piece for students, and creating unnecessary headaches for teachers! Many principals are green, having been fast tracked through the system. Principals spend most of their time out of school in meetings instead of supporting teachers and students. Teachers are often left on their own to handle challenging students in their classroom without admin support.
