Vantaggi
Closes at 7pm weekdays, 6pm weekends most stores. Volume not as busy as other chains. 10% store/online discount (sold by walmart), free paramount plus, free Walmart.com membership, Opportunities to transfer within company when you relocate.Opportunities for leadership role. Overall a good “9-5” type environment with moderate stress, also if you’re a retail only pharmacist, you have very few choices. Walmart is probably one of the top retailers to work at for our wretched profession, that will soon be replaced by AI 🤪.
Svantaggi
Much lower pay than $92-$106/hr jobs from major hospital outpatient( but pharmacist pay in general have been almost a standstill compared to other fields like NURSES!!), A lot of metrics and cyclical new program pushes that tend to die over time but still time consuming (taking time away from core tasks and do not contribute to profitability; wellness day ( manning a table/feels like trying to sell girls scout cookies on a Saturday), offsite immunization (mobile Imz without much support or safety of a facility/clinic). Customer surveys (you will get dinged when a Karen doesn’t like how things are locked up or anything she finds at fault under the sun and you will get an email demanding explanation.) The occasional budget crunch where you get your hours trimmed, working for 6 or 7 hours a day (six—-SEVENNNN). Personnel drama bc of cultural/ethnic/personality differences or mental health issues (but that’s everywhere?); although less so with CVS and Walgreens (at least in my experience) bc they are too busy to have mental health issues at work, instead it’s more of a mental breakdown and walk out.
