Svantaggi
Employees here are very political and passive aggressive. A coworker will tattle tale on you to management and only relay perceived mistakes rather than your merit or accomplishments. This means you will have to do this part yourself which creates a weird need to constantly report accomplishments to management. There is also very little transparency here on performance as you may be doing a stellar or mediocre job and have no idea unless you force a conversation about it, which my director was very reluctant and uncomfortable to give even when I was doing excellent work and our clients were happy. It seemed as though unless you were 'in', then you were pretty much frozen out. They blatantly tell you in orientation that having difficult or direct conversations are something they try to avoid here. What company culture is this? I received great feedback from all 'clients' (by clients, they mean coworkers in other departments) but was put under pressure because of coworkers tattling. Warner Bros Technology is a perfect example of bottom heavy 'workloads'. Frequently those in upper management exist to only go to meetings and very little work is done on their part as most of the actual work, if you can call it that, is punted on analysts and managers. Most of these meetings are fluff meetings that consist of vague conversations about ongoing initiatives and nothing concrete comes out of them other than the fact that everyone feels good about having a meeting. The only time that meaningful decisions are made are over email and not in any of these meetings. Just look at the reviews here on Glassdoor and filter them by position. The higher the position, the better the rating because these overpaid execs have no reason to complain since all they do is talk most of the day without actually working. Inflated self worth is also very evident here. Most of the extreme technical work that requires actual skill is done by outside contractors while the full time employees scarcely maintain their programs and think it means an intensive workload. Most of my time as a 'technical resource' was spent pushing paperwork and telling contractors to do the actual technical work. When I tried to handle the technical work myself, as I have been trained to do for years, I was told our role was to manage the contractors and to merely continue attending meetings and pushing paperwork. I did not agree with this at all as I had signed on for a challenge but was instead given a cushy position that was not fulfilling in any capacity. I was let go by the company because a long tenured coworker had reported their mistakes as mine and by the time I found this out, I was told 'the company has made a decision'. I was let go without any chance to defend myself as I had only been hired a few months prior and this coworker had been with the company for years. There was no warning or performance meeting beforehand. When I informed management at this firing meeting that there were clear audit trails showing who had made what mistake in our system, they did not seem interested and I was told repeatedly 'the company has made a decision'. The severance was also extremely low considering I had moved across the country for this role and had no support system in Los Angeles. I had to scrape by for a few weeks before I was able to find a great position at a more respectable company. It is also extremely telling that they haven't even verified themselves here on Glassdoor, that really speaks to the fact that WB does not care about their own perception. As highlighted in another review, they do not care about employee turnover or worker quality, which is especially evident in WB Technology. 'Analysts' here are paid to push paperwork and some of them complain daily about the 'workload' which is just administrative busywork. More items I noticed: - A lot of title chasers here -Rude and snarky emails were regular which fomented a lot of negativity -Management plays clear favorites and don't try to hide it -Drinking in the office during work hours -Raises are very poor based on coworker's accounts -Coworkers openly complaining about one another when they aren't present -The coffee was also very poor quality in the office. A small detail in retrospect but it showed that management was not willing to treat their coworkers to even small comforts.
