      Important work. Meaningful and fulfilling. At the time offered full government health benefits (may still do so). The animals are amazing to work with, and ultimately you keep coming back for them.

      Working for a cause is great, and you feel a sense of pride when things go well. The staff are some of the most dedicated and passionate people you will ever work next to.

      - Horrible management -- lack of diversity and transparency - Disengaged CEO more concerned with herself and her pet projects than the well-being of her employees. ex: facilities with mold, leaking pipes, pest infestations which were left untreated - No opportunities for growth - No mentorship - Reactionary vs proactive - CEO is very proud of the fact that there is no work-life balance (frequently discusses this in senior staff meetings), including for the employees who get paid peanuts - Pay is laughable
