Vantaggi
-The money and benefits are the only possible reason anyone would or should work here - but as you know - money does NOT buy happiness. No one ever sticks around long enough (10 years) to see the pension. -Is better than the overly micro-managed Geico but even Geico doesn't fire without reason. Wawanesa is a bully's playground. With their main office in Canada, no one knows what's going on. -The grass seems greener but it's not. Do not apply unless you're out of ideas and desperate.
Svantaggi
-No loyalty. Once upper management or your supervisor decides they don't like you, you are out. The turn around here is huge. Within less than a year 30 new people were hired for inside liability. They claim 50% of their workers have been at the company for years but what they don't tell you is that new comers are lucky to make it through the first year. Do NOT have an opinion if you want to survive. Do your job, come to work, and shut your mouth. -No transparency. No one has any idea what is going on. Whether it be system errors or how to properly transfer files. Everyone has a different method or a different answer. -"Reviews" leave all the power with your supervisor. Your supervisor will make or break you here. Unfortunately 99% of them are terrible and should have been fired a long time ago. This is where the cliquey high school part really comes into play. Everything you do is documented. If you sneeze the wrong way THAT will go in your file. The purpose of a review is not to help the adjuster but to keep them down. -High amount of claims received per month with no sympathy for those who can't keep up. -Their systems are archaic with more roles being added for inside liability adjusters daily. They are currently trying to make everything tracked. More responsibilities have been handed over to the adjusters like calling for rental, doing your own clerical work (ordering police reports, searching through ISO). -Monitoring. As I've said before. Do not have a personality. Everything you do is listened to and monitored. -Growth. There is no growth at this company unless you jump through necessary hoops and keep your head down. -Training. Absolutely abhorrent. They throw adjusters into their archaic system - new and old - then expect them to know it. There is no true training at Wawanesa. Most supervisors don't know what's going on and these are the people they have teaching the newbies coming in. It's laughable. Once a new person comes to Wawanesa you'll see their coworkers going completely out of their way to help them. The coworkers do not get paid for this or praised for this. This is not in their reviews. It's simply expected of them and it shouldn't be. Depending on your supervisor they may or may not help you settle in. Most of the time they won't help. They will expect you to know everything. -Disgruntled employees. You will hear coworkers talking about how terrible the company is or you'll physically see how depressed people are walking around. The atmosphere at this company is terrible and will suck out your soul. -No Christmas bonus or bonuses at all for that matter. No true INCENTIVES that most companies have - even Anchor General has a Christmas bonus of some sort and they are known as being terrible. It just goes to show that something minor like this does accurate portray how much the company doesn't care. -You park all the way across the street if you are new. No one tells anyone this information before they hire you. KEEP FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS. DON'T LET THE MAN KEEP YOU DOWN! There is MORE to life than a cubicle prison and you don't want a company that doesn't value YOU or appreciate YOU. We are all human and we all need to make the best of the one life we have! I invite everyone who has worked here to post your own opinions as well!
