Vantaggi
All employees are given the chance for local sporting events for Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics. Tickets to Off-Broadway shows are also offered through lottery. Coffee, tea, snacks are a great little perk. Health benefits are very competitive. Health is through Blue Cross Blue Shield and the premiums are low. Options are given for different deductible levels, which is nice. Dental is through Principal Insurance and covers. 100% of the premium is covered and includes 2 cleanings per year and other basic services with limited co-pays. CSN is a good place to work as a first job out of college if you want to be downtown, are allergic to wearing suits, want an easy transition to the working world, and don't mind not getting paid much. If you are a career-driven, type A personality that is looking to tap into a company that can offer the institutionalized know-how and job training that is long-term transferrable, I wouldn't put CSN on your short list.
Svantaggi
CSN, in short, is a little like high school. Sadly, nepotism has a strong place in the company culture. Professional development and career advancement are championed as causes, but efforts to cultivate these fall short. The company likes to hire internally, which is a positive - both for employees (who aren't competing against outside candidates) and the company (which doesn't have to waste time on the culture match of the employee). Unfortunately, objective skill assessment and candidacy takes a backseat to favoritism. As a result, I've seen several promising people left under-utilized and stripped of incentive.
