Vantaggi
Coworkers who shared similar values, benefits are average. Fun quarterly company events as well as a budget to plan events for your team. Overall the company is a great resume builder. After staying here for about two years, I had recruiters reaching out to me that resulted in multiple offers that allowed me to better negotiate my salary for my new role.
Svantaggi
Under paid, no holidays, limited PTO, extremely hard to advance I truly enjoyed my time at Wayfair for about a year when I started to looking for opportunities to grow. In my department, there was no position in place that I could be promoted to (literally no L2 role that existed) so I tired looking into other departments that had more opportunities for growth. With Wayfair, in order to move departments you need to move within the same level. So being in an entry level role, I was only allowed to move into another entry level role regardless of your skill set or previous background. I feel like this stunted a lot of peoples growth and caused them to look elsewhere at other companies where their new positions would be promotions from their current positions at Wayfair. I think this forces a lot of people out of the company versus allowing them to grow there. I would also like to combat the "great work life balance" claims others here are making. This company absolutely expects you to put work first and life second. You receive a total of 6 holidays a year and about 2 weeks PTO in your first year. This might not be so bad but that PTO is all-inclusive of your vacation and sick time which I found, made a lot of people come into the office sick, versus taking the time off. Some positions do allow you to work from home but in my experience, trying to get your manager to let you work from home was the equivalent of trying to pull out a tooth. This created a stressful environment considering to succeed you need to be working 9+ hour days. This is not a place that encourages growth or a healthy work/life balance. As I said before, get your experience here to strengthen your resume, then find a better role elsewhere at a company that does value growth and a work/life balance.
