Office space is lovely and wider company culture definitely has positives, lots of charity initiatives and socials. I have a feeling other departments are run far better, from an outsiders perspective I thought people in other teams seemed content /happier Flexible working
Svantaggi
I’d like to warn anyone considering working at this place. I read a review earlier titled ‘avoid if you value your mental health' and I could not agree more. Categorically the most miserable place I've ever worked. The working environment is beyond toxic and unfriendly - I've never worked at a company where people are treated so insidiously badly. The pay is atrocious - £22k and there is very little progression but they will string you along under the false pretence that there will be some down the line. To top that off, the work itself is mind numbingly dull – I lost brain cells working here. People were made to cry on a weekly basis and I heard that my manager had had multiple HR complaints against her which came as no surprise considering she made an issue out of me missing work for a friends funeral, was incredibly unsympathetic to everything and when I handed my notice in behaved so unprofessionally that I felt embarrassed on her behalf. There was clearly a conscious effort to make people feel uncomfortable and belittled, management across both the buying and merchandising teams are hugely hierarchical and cliquey – don’t expect to be spoken to like a normal human being. Reflecting on the overall experience and being out of it and ten times happier elsewhere I just wanted to let others know that there are far better companies out there where you can actually enjoy and look forward to the working day and interacting with colleagues rather than dreading every single day like I did for a year, please don't make the same mistake I did!
