Vantaggi

There is a good work life balance. Location is good. Good pay according to the market value.

Svantaggi

The people in the top level are sort of the permanent employees and they hire new 'expendable' employees from time to time as need be and either fire them or lay them off as soon as they dont need them. They dont hire employees with the intention of retaining them although they might call it a full time position... it is a deception. I would recommend to only accept the offer if there is no other alternative and continue to look for opportunities even while employed there because you never know which day could be your last there. The atmosphere is very negative there and you feel it when you start working there immediately.

Vantaggi

Williams-Pyro offers excellent benefits, the people are great to work with, salaries are decent, and the work-life balance is perfect.

Svantaggi

Typical of a family-run business, there exists favoritism and nepotism. Some employees are employed/promoted because they are related to or trusted by the owner, but they do not perform their jobs effectively and the whole company suffers as a result.

Vantaggi

Fort Worth is a great city with affordable housing options. Great food nearby. You will appreciate every other job you've ever had.

Svantaggi

Family run means no accountability at the top and critical individual(s) are not necessarily there due to ability. Invasive and constant snooping - roving hall monitors, recorded phone calls, computer screen captures and key logging, etc. Random hiring practices (no job descriptions, staff recommendations ignored) and legendary turnover rate among professionals. Poor relationships with nearby universities and research organizations. Senior management has limited background to develop technical products or judge the value of technical employees. Frequent changes of direction and no chance for established procedures to work. Absolutely no chance for employees to address perceived performance issues - professionals are fired for cause at first infraction or when convenient. You will *never* feel secure at your job once you realize this. The company brags that "nobody has every been laid-off from Williams Pyro". That's perfectly true - employees are always either forced to quit or fired for cause. This makes collection of unemployment benefits 'challenging'.
