Vantaggi
Winc was a bit of a wild ride, to be honest. It was and is a startup, with all the usual things that go with that. Educationally, it had potential, but sometimes courses had been made too fast and by a very well-intentioned but completely inexpert team, meaning the quality wasn't good enough for students to really benefit from the course - what they were getting was actually a beta version. However, the pro is that we made huge efforts to improve their experience and professionalise this, and the team doing that were absolutely great. The mentors worked hard to educate and help people. There was freedom to change things as an employee, and there was a feeling of building something wonderful.
Svantaggi
As with many startups, the reality is that they've got to chase the dollar (euro, in this case). This led to a pushy and less than transparent sales culture and sometimes misleading claims. The education's cost was artificially inflated beyond a reasonable level in order to get as much government / tax-payer money as possible. The courses are online learning, and while they are not that bad, they are not worth what they are sold for, unless you are a government buyer. All of this created a negative culture that operated alongside the good one of people who genuinely wanted to do something positive.
