There's a clear lack of trust between employee and HR Culture and Leadership - Micromanagement style similar to Chinese work culture - Must clock in and clock out, has built-in punishment system that affects employee bonus - Encourages overtime work, but no overtime pay or time in lieu will be given - Meetings with China HQ is typically in their work hours, not PST - Managers take credit for team's work - Company uses an internal social platform for employees to share information, but is often used as a means to take credit for other people's work. - English-only speakers are severely disadvantaged - Mandarin speaking employees are favored, promoting lack of diversity - Chinese hierarchy in workplace is valued. Highest paid person's opinion is obvious. - Promotions are rotational and annual, given arbitrarily, and results are increases in pay that are less than inflation. You also must do a presentation in front of a panel of judges. - Leadership is non-existent and there's a weird uncomfortable power struggle between VPs. - So many politics and very little time spent on actual work - Lack of vision and emphasis is put on short-term profit gains - Good reviews on glassdoor were forced by HR
