Vantaggi

The first thing that you'll noticed is the small size but still has access to great equipment and instruments. The location of the school is about 45min from Boston and we have access to the major University's there as well as our close neighbor UMASS Medical School. The Professors I work with on a whole seem very invested in the the students that they teach and care about their success.

Svantaggi

Though it is small in size it doesn't necessarily have the intimacy you would expect. It feels far more like a job then any sort of mentoring graduate program and their is a huge disparity between what is expected with your teaching assistantship responsibilities from the professors you help and the research professor you also work for. This causes a lot of unnecessary tension. Continuing on this point as a graduate student you don't really feel like a part of the institution because I believe this lack of vision exists on several levels. Don't expect the graduate program to be like the far more developed and successful undergraduate program.

Vantaggi

Can be pretty easy if most of your work is office hours. I had about seven hours a week and most of the time there weren't many students.

Svantaggi

Grading was a lot harder than I expected. Pretty demoralizing honestly; a lot of clearly ChatGPT submissions (ECE programming class mostly with freshmen who'd never seen code before, so not surprising). Grading paper exams was fine.
