Vantaggi
My experience at WorkMotion GmbH spanned two years. During the early stages, I genuinely enjoyed my time—there was room to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully. The remote-first setup provided flexibility, and I was exposed to a global and dynamic work environment. Despite the company being in its scale-up phase, there were some very talented colleagues and exciting challenges that helped sharpen my professional skills.
Svantaggi
Unfortunately, the challenges began soon after I joined in 2023. A 20% layoff happened right after a lavish company event in Spain, which, to me, reflected serious financial mismanagement. From that point on, things spiraled. By 2025, multiple restructuring waves dismantled key teams and created a toxic environment. We faced chronic overtime with no compensation, team mergers with unrealistic workloads, and a culture that leaned heavily into blame rather than support. Middle management lacked the skills to advocate for their teams and often prioritized pleasing top leadership over employee well-being. Operational teams, in particular, suffered due to zero automation, leading to excessive manual work and constant complaints. The worst part: employees were pressured into accepting salary deductions, and those who refused were targeted with bogus “poor performance” terminations. That kind of tactic is not just unethical—it’s dehumanizing.
