Less than 40 hours with cuts in staffing and hours to make their budgets which is very hard to get all the tasks done. No warehouse help so your loading furniture into cars or UHAULS which unless you know what your doing, could cause harm to oneself. They mislead customers by not telling them NO warehouse staff. You have to pull/shop for online sales which takes you away from floor responsibilities. to many emails to read from Corp that takes time away to do. College and Seasonal help that have been cut so you have added daily tasks which include doing shipments of shrink wrapped pallets of all sorts of goods that make no sense in shipping together. These pallets are many usually and about 7ft high and no room to distribute since its been pilled up from the past shipments with lack of manpower. We've had to use a lift to place way on top of the racks which only 2 people know how to use one being a PT person. The dinosaur computer systems that training is laughable and one can get written up due to issues( embarrassing registers that double scan or keys are missing) beyond their control since they track transactions and never fix the issues. You only get a weekly schedule only that is rarely consistent and never count on a consistent day off, you have to request if you need one. Computers crash frequently so you can't clock in or out and can be reprimanded for being one minute early or late even though it takes you about 5 minutes waiting for the computer to upload. They prefer you to use your own phone with updated technology! College kids do this one. Store manager is lacking in leadership skills and form of training is reading sheets and sheets on the how to's. Not one on one. You are thrown into doing tasks without enough training and told what you did wrong after the fact. The pay isn't worth it since you lack of manpower and now, you have added responsibilities to do because you can't retain people and making cuts to save on your budget. NOT a feasible expectation. Cleaning of bathrooms and floors is expected. Not enough phones and can't get a full charge usually since again, its old technology that does not integrate well with 2 newer tablets and they constantly shut down which is annoying since you now have to resign in again and wait for a response back. An equity firm holds the company and one should expect that they will cut on budgets every chance they get and rely on employees to do more work from old systems that requires much more work than necessary to be productive. You get burned out and less motivated at that point. No store improvements so expect a dirty facility and an overly stocked warehouse that one has a hard time to even walk through. There are schematics to follow which is basically every fixture in the store and then try and find the product in wrapped up pallets, its robotic. shame since this company use to be good a few years back and one looked forward to going to work but times have changed. Great for PT, students and first time job seekers since they won't know any better on a well managed company and management team. Total lack of communication which you need to be a well rounded team. Every one is doing everything so you never really know whose doing what and when, all guess work.
