I started in the call center as a temporary employee, in the space of two years I progressed to the research department and then to the liaison department as an insurance specialist.

When I was in the call center the emphasis was more on the number of calls answered than on providing the best service to the callers. I always did the best I could to resolve the issue during the first call. Because of this my production numbers were not as high as they wanted and after six months they were not going to roll me over to permanent status. My manager with the temp agency went to the management at Xerox and told them point blank "you do not want to lose this employee, he cares about the customers and will be a good employee." Thank you to the temp manager for going to bat for me.
