I don't think there are many pros to working at a call center, but the job is fairly straightforward to catch on to processes and information. You're going to be repeating a lot of the same things every day. During periods when it's not too busy, you might have some downtime to yourself.

The nature of the calls can be brutal, being that you're dealing with a lot of rightfully angry clients who have to go through complicated processes just to receive months of payments that are owed to them due to a lack of communication from upper management and ever-changing policies. The in-office environment is very restrictive. We are heavily monitored due to metrics. It feels like you're being watched at all times. At one point, we were told that we couldn't be away from our desks for more than 5 mins and if we needed to, we had to report that to our supervisors. Unfortunately, I can't always predict ahead of time how long my bathroom break will be. There aren't many employee benefits, incentives, or opportunities for growth that make you feel like it's even a little bit worth it to come to work.
