If you love your city, it can be very fun. Remote work is helpful and you'll make great relationships with fellow community managers, who are typically wonderful people.

As others have said, upper management is extremely out of touch with reality, including the realities of small businesses post-COVID. Pay is very under market for the level of work. Values are consistently preached but only selectively honored.

We agree that connecting with your city and working alongside wonderful fellow Community Managers are some of the best parts of the role. We're also glad remote work was helpful for you. Favoritism and gossip don't align with the environment we want to create. We want everyone to feel valued and supported as a person.
