C-level management wasn't skilled in leading their employees. Every team was left to self-organize for a while (which had devastating results for the culture some people believed in), after which managers with *no* people skills, no vision for growth and no emotional intelligence started authoritatively shuffling things and directing us around, demanding things are done their way. Among the methods they used for trying to bring the company in a state they preferred are bullying, threatening, manipulation, etc. A very small number of employees benefitted from good relationships with the managers, though, so transparency, communication, sometimes decision-making was most of the times done only in those closed circles.
