Vantaggi
Very well-structured training program. Everyone in the company goes through tons of training, which ensures that everybody is on the same page and no one gets left behind. Training includes company culture and insurance benefits, to overview of high-level functions at other departments, to intensive sql, python, statistics, finance training. I got 40 something calendar invites on my first day of work for training schedule in the following 3 weeks. If you are someone who likes predictability or are in the early stage of your career, this is the perfect place for you. Ownership. Company founders emphasize that after they equip you with the tools you need to succeed during training, then it is completely up to you to innovate, find new things to work on and find new ways to work on existing functions. This has manifested frequently where I've seen people not having to go through managers if they think their way of doing things is better and more efficient, or after working in certain department (e.g. data product) transitioning to other capacities (sales, engineering, research, etc.) Communication. Company has a rigid set of standards in terms of communication, that ultimately promotes transparency and is also a good skill to have in general. For example, how you should use slack, bcc, cc, what kind of labels you should use when referring to pre-defined terms, how to loop in other departments in a conversation, etc. This increases transparency and helps teach you professional communications skill which is very valuable. Transparency. Employees get briefed on highly confidential matters and are provided very detailed explanations on executive decisions, which shows that the company treats employees seriously and as partners. Perks. All of the good stuff, snack, beverages, swags, etc. which everybody loves!
Svantaggi
Company has grown very quickly in the last few years, so everybody is sort of getting to know each other. This could be a good thing because there's no clique or office politics. I'm sure opportunities to socialize are in the pipeline but it's just a natural result of the fast-growing business.
