Tons of great people at the company. Everyone in the technical side is friendly and really smart. If you're a junior dev, they offer a great amount of knowledge to learn from. You have the potential and autonomy to build some meaningful changes into the process. There are a ton of opportunities to do special things if you have the hunger for it. If you are in Vancouver, the office is beautiful and worth checking out. So many wonderful and pleasant people to hang out with.

Leadership moves in mysterious ways. Crunch time for features is a regular occurrence even though they tell you it's not the case. Ask any person that's been at the company for a long time and they can list out a bunch of examples of this happening, rarely to notable successes felt by the technical team. It feels like a highly technical product that is being led by the least technical people. As someone who cares about the product, it can feel frustrating to see things being rushed for seemingly shallow and arbitrary reasons. Management rarely notices when folks go above and beyond in a technical capacity. Some of your peers absolutely will notice, but this recognition rarely goes anywhere that enriches your career in a meaningful way. Creative stagnation in the product. Lack of strong direction from leadership results in some of the best ideas being squandered or lost in a sea of slack threads. If you thrive in cutting scope to meet MVP deadlines, then this is the place for you. There are artifacts in the company that this was not always the case, but it has definitely taken hold during my time with ZenHub. There is a strong chance that this leadership strategy will eventually result in a very profitable product, but there's also a good chance that the product won't offer any significant distinction over its main competitors (GitHub Projects, Jira, Asana). Meetings, meetings, meetings. I hope you like talking about functionality more than actually building it. You will spend a lot of time talking and listening to others echo the same vague ideas.
