Hi, thanks for you feedback. It’s great to hear you think we’re doing well as a company, and the benefits are good. It’s very important to me our employees feel valued. Sounds like we’re doing a good job there. In terms of growth, I agree it’s competitive at Zillow for internal positions. But I know your managers are happy to help catapult you to the next level under the right circumstances. This happens most frequently when an employee consistently excels at their current role, continuously sharpens existing skills, and adds new ones from both inside and outside Zillow (the free access to Lynda.com Zillow provides is a great place to start). While there is definitely a pattern to our work, think of it as a chance to really master something, become an expert in the process, and find a rhythm to excel (and give feedback to make it better!), as opposed to it being monotonous. In sales, job can change often. For example: I was making good money and excelling because I am a relationship Sales person. Then they changed it to where you get the sale, and instead of being able to grow that account via that relationship you just broke into, you have to pass it to an account manager and go back to cold/robo calling. You "book" of business you recive to prospect from is a lottery. I received a book of prospects/accounts that most of the were low income, or senior living properties. They don't have a budget and have a line of renter on a waitlist. No way to convince them to spend money on advertising but you still have the same quota.
