Vantaggi

-Benefits -Food (ie drinks, cereal, snacks). - Catered lunch twice a month at HQ but only to keep sales people hostage so they can bring in more revenue before the end of the month. -The people, but not everyone. It really depends on whether you have a good relationship with people and if you mutually respect and like each other.

Svantaggi

- If you're an individual contributor at the company you are just a workhorse in upper management's eyes. Managers and leadership don't care about your well-being even though they say they do. They just want someone who is ambitious and eager to accomplish the task at hand but don't want someone too ambitious because then they'll feel threatened and the relationship will turn very sour. -As an individual contributor, your pay is terrible. Everyone complains about it but leadership doesn't do anything except say it's based on standard of living. - If you like the environment where you feel like a chicken with it's head cut off then this is the place for you. -If you like being told what to do, and be told, "you're empowered to speak up” but in actuality, no one cares what you have to say, because leaders already know what’s “right”, then this is the place for you. - If you’d rather discuss career development rather than actually be developed, then this will be the place for you. - It's extremely top down but again if you like that, then great. - Really think about this, and look at other companies’ glassdoor. Not often will you see leadership responding to EVERY review. But if you look at Zillow’s you’ll see that every review good or bad, has a comment. Doesn’t it make you wonder, does Zillow have something to hide and are they so concerned with their image that they need to have a rebuttal for every comment made, and why? Shouldn’t management be working to help their employees rather than spending their day reading reviews?

Thanks for your review – it is unfortunate to hear how you feel. We respond to every review on Glassdoor because we learn from every review so we can continue to get better. It is hard to tell from your review whether you still at Zillow, but regardless I would love to connect and discuss your perspectives @ dans@zillowgroup.com. We work hard to ensure our pay practices are competitive to the local market and equitable across internal peers. We don’t view employees as replaceable and have multiple channels, both public and anonymous, to answer questions and hear concerns. Listening and engaging directly with our employees is one of our core values and we are proud of the direct and transparent dialog we have daily at Zillow. If you, or anyone reading this, would like learn more please reach out to me and I can share more.

Vantaggi

You can make good money here.

Svantaggi

In sales, job can change often. For example: I was making good money and excelling because I am a relationship Sales person. Then they changed it to where you get the sale, and instead of being able to grow that account via that relationship you just broke into, you have to pass it to an account manager and go back to cold/robo calling. You "book" of business you recive to prospect from is a lottery. I received a book of prospects/accounts that most of the were low income, or senior living properties. They don't have a budget and have a line of renter on a waitlist. No way to convince them to spend money on advertising but you still have the same quota.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed perspective. We understand that frequent changes to roles, account ownership and business priorities can have a real impact on relationship-building and the day-to-day experience in sales. We’re glad to hear compensation was a positive part of your time at Zillow, and we appreciate you being candid about where the model and structure felt frustrating. Feedback like yours helps us better understand how these changes are experienced across teams as the business evolves.
