Without a doubt the worst company I've had the misfortune to work for. Staff are treated poorly and continually let down by senior management. There is a complete lack of direction, and communication is non existent. There are individuals in positions of senior management who lack any sort of people skills, and whose default is to revert to bullying tactics to get things done. Having half the development team in Thailand may be a real cost saver, but you only get their time for a few hours in the morning, and there is often a real communication barrier which leads to delays. High expectation that you work long hours and into the weekend. Then if you don't, you're made out to not be pulling your weight, and you immediately have a target on your back. Don't expect any formal training or onboarding, you're just given your laptop on day 1 and are expected to get on with it. Do expect to have your calendar filled with unnecessary meetings (usually a meeting about a meeting) or meetings scheduled for 30 mins that go on for 3 hours, that will then lead to even more delays as it leaves you with limited time to actually do your job. Unless you're happy to work into the evening and weekends of course! No regular 1-2-1s or team meetings/ business updates (especially in product) and when they are arranged, just expect them to be continuously moved before they are eventually cancelled! Really poor business practice. The only feedback I was given by my line manager was wholly unprofessional and I believe they felt embarrassed to even tell me, but had to as they were told to say this by senior management. From that point on I knew that they were not interested in having me work for ZILO, and were actively trying to manage me out. This was confirmed when I saw my role being advertised, and the head of my department also removed me as a LinkedIn connection, all whilst I was still an employee at the business! One of my few interactions with the CEO were in a series of meetings with the whole product team, where he repeatedly told us that we were the reason the business was failing to meet it's objectives, and if we didn't like it then we could just leave. Great way to motivate your staff! Despite the generous salary and holiday allowance, the rest of the benefits are pretty average. I was sold the dream with ZILO and like for many I worked with, it turned out to be a toxic nightmare.

Got to experience meetings with a range of sectors within Zilo, talking to lots of different teams about their roles within Zilo. Got to work on an individual project and received support from people when I needed it.

Svantaggi

Office wasn't particularly busy, with lots of employees working remotely, so didn't get the traditional 'office lifestyle' but instead a more personal experience.

I was able to experience worklife in a highly supportive atmosphere with many meetings and helpful conversations with Zilo employees whose expertise in their field were notably visible.
