I joined this company when it felt like Mount Olympus — a place of purpose, collaboration, and genuine respect. There was a sense of community, ambition, and a belief that we were building something meaningful together. But like any great myth, this story took a dark turn. The arrival of the current Chief People Officer marked a shift — not of strategy, but of soul. If Hades had traded the underworld for a People remit, it would look something like this. What followed was not leadership, but dominion. A culture once rooted in openness and trust gave way to fear, confusion, and manipulation. The CPO, whose title suggests empathy and people-first thinking, instead brought chaos cloaked in charm. They gaslit, belittled, and isolated — not to lead, but to control. Lies were crafted not for clarity but for clout, and those who questioned the narrative were quickly cast out. Worse still, derogatory comments — inappropriate and demeaning — were made in open settings, tolerated under a thin veil of power. These weren’t one-offs, they were patterns. The people at the top are so far removed from the heartbeat of the company — the people working on property every day, creating the magic and spreading what was once called soulful hospitality. Those teams are the unsung heroes, holding up a structure that’s cracking from the top down. The company’s decline is no mystery; it began the moment this individual stepped into power and began treating people not as colleagues, but as pawns in their personal theatre. To anyone considering joining: know that no salary, title, or promise is worth your peace or integrity. Sometimes, the gods fall — but it’s the mortals beneath them who pay the price

A group of misogynistic, immature middle-aged men is destroying a company and its corporate culture, operating on the edge of what is legally permissible. Anyone who doesn’t play along with this game is ignored and pushed out; yes-men are promoted and regarded as good employees. In the end, every single person is just a pawn in the theater of a few sociopaths in management, whose sole purpose is to bleed the company dry in order to sell it at the highest possible price, cash in on bonuses, and stroke their own egos. Good employees are fired or driven away to make room for the CEO’s old companions, who actively support him in his mission and his charade. This management is driven solely by its own greed and lacks any behavior that could be described as leadership, empathy, or respect. Rather, they act like a swarm of locusts, devouring everything and leaving nothing positive behind. Anyone who wants to achieve something in their job, make a difference, or simply be respected as a human being is in the wrong place here. This is a suicide mission that drives even the most resilient and robust people into burnout in short notice of time.

The staff on-site are great, they have so much potential to run the coolest hotels ever

Objectively, reviews look like bitter, former staff who have been let go in the redundancy round at head office. However, as I am currently a working employee, I can attest to how bad it is. The CEO has brought all his former Generator buddies (yes, there are literally ALL men) to work for him at edyn. Which is understandable, because these buddies do exactly what they are told to appease the CEO. I guess they do this, as they are rewarded with trips on yachts in Thailand and Singapore (while staff on-site are being told to cut costs, cut costs, cut costs) The CEO, has to approve every single thing (hence the word micromanagement has been used alot in these reviews) and will even visit a property unannounced, not spend any time on saying hello to staff, and then send a long list of "what is wrong". I truly understand the need edyn has had to cut costs, as it is a business at the end of the day and therefore should make money. However, the way this company is run at the moment is absolutely unacceptable and will be their downfall. I hope anyone with respect for themselves looks for a job somewhere else, because I absolutely promise you, you can do SO much better. Perhaps this dictatorship worked for Generator, but I really hope changes are made here, before it is too late. It will be very sad to see.
