When I joined edyn five years ago, it felt like something special. The culture was vibrant, human, and deeply rooted in authenticity and trust. It felt like a sanctuary in the corporate world. A place where being yourself wasn’t just accepted, it was celebrated. The passion was palpable, and the hotel brands spoke for themselves. Beautiful, bold, and full of heart. But don’t be fooled by the polished veneer of stylish hotels and Instagrammable offices. Beneath the surface now lies a very different story. Everything changed when the investors ousted the leadership team including former CEO. From that moment, the company began to wither. Respect for employees vanished. The culture we built, carefully and with love, was slowly and systematically dismantled. A new Chief People Officer arrived, whose view of "people" feels cold and disconnected. Genuine care and compassion was replaced by rigid policies. Mental health is treated as weakness. Reasonable accommodations, whether for parents, pregnant employees, or those with disabilities, are routinely denied. Ironically, the same CPO brings her own child to the office, allowing disruption while rejecting others’ requests for basic flexibility, like a school run or nursery pick up. One rule for them, another for everyone else. The new CEO, who joined in January, hasn’t even introduced himself to the business. He openly says he doesn’t like communication, and unfortunately, he’s stayed true to that. Perks and benefits have quietly disappeared, flexible working is discouraged or outright rejected, and morale has hit rock bottom. The garden we once nurtured is now scorched earth. It feels like fear has become the management tool of choice. Comply, or you're gone. And if you haven’t hit the two-year mark, they know they can act without consequence, exploiting the lack of employee protections. The environment is deeply hostile, and at times, it felt almost surreal, like the kind of place people warn you about, but you don’t believe until you’ve lived it. I’ve never felt so stressed, so mentally unwell, as I did while working here. Even now, after leaving, I’m still carrying the weight of it. It’s taken a toll I didn’t expect, and recovery hasn’t been easy. This company is simply not worth your wellbeing. Truly, avoid it at all costs. Most of the people I worked alongside have already left or are finding their way out, and honestly, that may be by design. It seems easier to push people out than to treat them fairly or follow proper redundancy processes. Basic workplace rights and regulations are often ignored, or bent just enough to avoid accountability. I’ve never seen anything like it. If you value your wellbeing, your dignity, and working in an environment that respects human beings, look elsewhere. edyn is left soulless. What remains is a hollow shell, dressed in luxury but empty of care. What was once the best company I had ever worked for has turned into something unrecognisable. A flourishing garden that, under careless hands, was left to burn.

A group of misogynistic, immature middle-aged men is destroying a company and its corporate culture, operating on the edge of what is legally permissible. Anyone who doesn’t play along with this game is ignored and pushed out; yes-men are promoted and regarded as good employees. In the end, every single person is just a pawn in the theater of a few sociopaths in management, whose sole purpose is to bleed the company dry in order to sell it at the highest possible price, cash in on bonuses, and stroke their own egos. Good employees are fired or driven away to make room for the CEO’s old companions, who actively support him in his mission and his charade. This management is driven solely by its own greed and lacks any behavior that could be described as leadership, empathy, or respect. Rather, they act like a swarm of locusts, devouring everything and leaving nothing positive behind. Anyone who wants to achieve something in their job, make a difference, or simply be respected as a human being is in the wrong place here. This is a suicide mission that drives even the most resilient and robust people into burnout in short notice of time.

The staff on-site are great, they have so much potential to run the coolest hotels ever

Objectively, reviews look like bitter, former staff who have been let go in the redundancy round at head office. However, as I am currently a working employee, I can attest to how bad it is. The CEO has brought all his former Generator buddies (yes, there are literally ALL men) to work for him at edyn. Which is understandable, because these buddies do exactly what they are told to appease the CEO. I guess they do this, as they are rewarded with trips on yachts in Thailand and Singapore (while staff on-site are being told to cut costs, cut costs, cut costs) The CEO, has to approve every single thing (hence the word micromanagement has been used alot in these reviews) and will even visit a property unannounced, not spend any time on saying hello to staff, and then send a long list of "what is wrong". I truly understand the need edyn has had to cut costs, as it is a business at the end of the day and therefore should make money. However, the way this company is run at the moment is absolutely unacceptable and will be their downfall. I hope anyone with respect for themselves looks for a job somewhere else, because I absolutely promise you, you can do SO much better. Perhaps this dictatorship worked for Generator, but I really hope changes are made here, before it is too late. It will be very sad to see.
