Vantaggi
Good compensation for the industry. Good location and offices Respected brands with high quality editorial content Some genuinely good people who 'make the best of it'.
Svantaggi
The company culture is juvenile, with possibly the least amount of autonomy I have ever experienced. The commercial staff turnover rate is huge. There is very little stability. Management coaching focuses very much on 'get on the phone' and 'building your pipeline. With the 4/5 x daily, 'when is it coming in?' for any deal in play. Don't expect much day to day coaching, support, or market insight from management. Just hour to hour pressure. EMAP have a very slick recruitment process and will make a concerted effort to try and bring you on board. However, be warned it is incredibly difficult for new starters. Why? Tenured employees are hailed as 'what success looks like', when they simply have the benefit of far superior territories. If you raise this, you will again be simply told to 'get on the phone' I would strongly recommend that if you are considering a move to the company, you thoroughly understand your the territory and target that you will be given. I am sure this review would be dismissed by the recruitment team, they will likely seek to introduce you to a handful of carefully selected current employees as part of the process. From somebody with friends still within the organisation, it is certainly not the rose garden the carefully managed image would have you believe.
