If you enjoy learning a new business area, understanding the context, getting to know how to work with new people, and doing it all over again every couple months on repeat you’re going to love it here. If you enjoy seeing tens of thousands wasted on random stuff only for leadership to start cancelling key initiatives or nickel and diming over 200 bucks you’re going to love it here. If you’re good at brown nosing you’ll go far here. You have to make the right bets on who to suck up to (as stated people in the Exec team only seem to last 9-12 months) but this seems to be the way to go if you want to be promoted or get more pay. Unfortunately a lot of the people here don’t seem to see this and have fallen into the trap of thinking working hard will speak for itself . What I was sold on building sounds like a really nice product. My teammates have been mostly awesome . Apparently a B corporation ! Some of the town halls and all hands are very very funny even if they don't mean to be

You should know if you’re joining this company now or in the near future that two rounds of layoffs have taken place in the last 18 months and no severance is given. The first round of layoffs was the most poorly ran I’ve seen in my 16 year career, with managers and friends disappearing from Slack one by one with zero attempt to explain what was happening. This is now known as The Red Wedding ! Super top down and decisions will be made in a silo by the Exec team which isn’t helped by the huge amount of turnover in this Exec team. They last 12 months on average and sometimes not that even. The HR satisfaction survey scores got worse and worse each time they’re done (and only some of the results only get shared with us, 6 months later) Definitely no discrimination for people of older age groups but the younger and more ambitious you are, the worst off you'll be
