Any positive reasons to work at first direct are back in 2018 way before mass redundancy and a change in leadership.

Leadership team are liars. Told during covid would be moving to 100% work from home. Told this would be permenant. Told we'd get contract changes and payments to set up home office - didn't happen. July 2022 first direct announced to customers via social media that flexible working was here to stay. They were "committed" to it and they would support us to work at home or in office and we'd have the choice. August 2022 given a bonus payment to help with cost of living. August 2023 now told we need to return to office 3 days a week at least by next year. 4 years of home working and told it's here to stay, lifestyle changes made, cost of living has risen and risen. Who can afford the commute? The food outside your own kitchen? The clothes suitable for the office? The childcare?

Micromanagement around stats, call quality, absence, behaviours. Ridiculous amount of pressure to squeeze as much out of there from end staff as possible. Unclear, untruthful communication. Lack of engagement or adaptation to working from home as a business. Poor business model.. We're a telephone bank but push all customers online? Poor systems 🤔a digital bank proposition with a poor digital platform but a high expectation still exists to engage and push customers to self serve. Terrible and detrimental handling of staff with long term existing mental health issues - with total disregard for the equality act and protected Characteristics. Not following FCA guidelines in line with FIV customers causing risk and harm.
