hey pay on a draw and in the line of business I was serving, the fee structure was impossible to close deals with. They were not open to considering a new structure, and it was a constant struggle to engage clients. The draw went up and up. The I got ripped off for a substantial commission which should have covered the draw. The client stopped paying and I went 9 months (until I left) without being paid for the placement I made. They didn't go after the client to collect until after I left, despite my asking them every few weeks to do so throughout the year,

It's tough. It takes a lot of internal drive and commitment. This isn't something for the weak, or those who throw in the towel with things get hard. A lot of cold outreach is required to build your desk and network - that alone isn't for everyone, especially those looking for an "easy" button.
