Compensation was decent, and most of the people are smart, talented and hard-working

Senior management is toxic. Cutthroat mindset and only cared about metrics and squeezing out more profit. Any employee consideration and corporate culture talk was meaningless. If you decide to work here for a step up in salary/title, go for it, but I wouldn’t wait very long to start looking to jump to a better software that actually cares about its employees.
