The pay is one of the highest I've seen for retail, regardless of age, gender etc you get around £7.20p/h. Even after a year, everyday was different, very fast paced. The uniform is great, it's a pair of blue/navy jeans, a pair of shoes (must be sold in store) and the navy t-shirt with the company logo on it. Staff Discount is great, after a year's service you get 16 pairs at 40% off and extra discounts on sale items etc. The 'yourschuh' website is really handy as it includes timesheets, training videos, payslips and targets. Made some friends for life.

Some managers are VERY childish, rude and make it blatantly clear who their favourites are which can make coming into work draining and being motivated very challenging. Managers and staff alike can be very petty. Don't be surprised if you find out your colleagues have been talking about you. No training is given to temporary staff as they were expected to go on floor during one of the busiest times of the year and get on with it without messing up.They also do NOT till train temporary staff which can be an issue, especially when the shop is very busy and they have to find a colleague either from the floor or the stockroom to put the purchase through for them, increasing customer waiting times and reducing productivity. The minimum 4 hour contracts p/w are annoying, especially considering you sometimes get sent home early after 2.5hours. If your shift is over and you've been unable to check over your section due to having serving a customer/doing a kids fit etc, you have to stay until that section is completed even if other people are on your section and still working. This wouldn't be a problem if it didn't often take up 20-30 minutes to get your section up to standard as you are asked by managers on the floor to grab pairs for a customer and serve. Managers on the floor don't really do much. Staff service reviews are very tedious also, I feel it's unfair to judge an employee's overall ability on the result of their performance during the review. No one seems interested if you need time off, work always comes first.
