TapQA is growing quickly so there is still a start up, exciting energy. Management is very approachable and tries very hard to make sure I am satisfied with my position and the progression of my career. There are lot of perks - game room, snacks, food on Friday, happy hour, softball, mud run groups, and a lot of other stuff. More importantly to me is that I I feel I am a valued member of this company. I have worked at numerous clients while employed with TapQA, and have never once had to worry about a contract coming due and not having a job. TapQA very closely monitors all contract dates and has always either gotten extensions or rolled me immediately onto a new project.
Earlier in my career I worked as an FTE software tester for a large company and I was frustrated at the speed of which I could grow my career and increase my salary. TapQA does a great job of rewarding hard work and increasing salaries for existing employees - unlike some places where the only way to get a good bump is to keep bouncing around employers.

There are aspects of consulting that can be considered "cons". Sometimes we work at client locations that makes for a bad commute. Sometimes the work feels too easy or the tech stack isn't what we would like to be working with or learning. But these aren't problems with TapQA, and there are a lot of positives and opportunities that only consulting can provide.
