The biggest issue is not workload — it is leadership culture. Certain managers operate through fear, micromanagement, humiliation, and constant control. Employees are often “corrected” publicly instead of coached privately. Respect is missing. Promises around promotions and growth are made, then conveniently denied later with vague or irrelevant reasons that have little to do with actual performance. Hard work is noticed when output is needed, but forgotten when appraisal time comes. There is a serious tendency to overuse capable employees while keeping them stuck in the same role. If you are dependable, expect more responsibility without corresponding recognition, title growth, or compensation. Communication from leadership can feel dismissive, insulting, and demoralizing. Instead of building people, some leaders seem focused on proving authority. This creates anxiety, low morale, and burnout. Many employees stay longer than they should because they hope things will improve. In reality, the culture needs fixing from the top.
