The company is in a great place to make serious improvements to the bottom line over the next 3-5 years, provided each department lead can realize their visions.

Without delegation of power to the appropriate department heads, all decisions must go through the owner, who is not up to speed. Bringing the owner up to speed concerning topics outside of his expertise can be extremely difficult and demoralizing. Bringing the owner in like this also leads to micro-managing on every level. Despite retiring and being ill, the owner is determined to hang on like his life depends on it. Unfortunately the result of the owner's input is nothing but chaos, lost morale, lost productivity, and lost money. Many of the problems caused by the owner don't need to be an issue if handled tactfully and with patience.

Better work life balance than ever before under new ownership. Hours are for working. Not politics, bullying, or flights of fancy by a bored owner. Pay is equalized to a respectable level with some room for improvement. So far, so good. I hope it continues.

Lot of pressure to make change orders and upsell whenever possible.

Company has some of the most talented and friendly staff around. Huge opportunity for growth, for both the business and the individual staff members. WFH allowed. New owners are/were employees of Visionfriendly.com and seem to truly understand what needs to be changed for the company to flourish and what is needed to create and foster a productive and fun environment. Since the announcement of ownership transition, the staff all appear to have had a massive weight taken off their shoulders; positive engagement/discussion between employees has increased. The open dialogue between new ownership and employees is already bringing about changes that have been in discussions for years that will immensely help the company

Svantaggi

Mentality from old ownership is still present and will be hard to root out of long term employees. Only time will tell if it can ever be gotten rid of entirely. Additionally, company has a lot of catching up to do regarding internal systems due to disinterest from old school mentality of previous owner, which new ownership is determined to fix and already has a plan. Company has lost many talented individuals in the past few years and needs to fill their open roles. Breaking the old habits needs to happen (and seems to be on the right track) and is the ONLY reason this company isn't 5 stars.
