Great news for our newly expanded Architecture and Urbanism team, who recently won the Gold Award for Interior Design in the Commercial Project category at the 9th annual @CREDAWARDs. Hyundai Seoul, designed by CRTKL - now a part of Arcadis - is the largest department store in Seoul. At over 80,000 square meters, it has been designed as a destination space focused on improving the customer experience. As much as 45 percent of the floor area is dedicated to public amenities, including an indoor park, open merchandise areas and space for programmed activities such as fashion shows, concerts, cultural exhibits, and food tastings. We worked with Maastricht University in the Netherlands to transform a former army barracks into a new space for staff and students, helping it to become the first university building in Europe to meet the WELL Building Standard. The renovated building is home to the Faculty of Life Sciences and Health, and not only pushes the boundaries in terms of creating a healthy and productive space, but can also serve as a living lab for the University's research.
