Every day, our nurses show up to help patients and families feel seen, supported and heard. These are just a few of the words that reflect the “why” behind what they do each day. #NursesWeek
We had such a great time celebrating Earth Day at Rady Children’s Health in both Orange County and Mission Hospital! The event really showed the amazing impact our Environmental Sustainability Program is having, along with the dedication of our 10 workgroups who are helping drive meaningful change across the organization. From interactive tables and creative crafts to fun giveaways and raffle prizes, it was exciting to see so much energy and engagement from our teams. Most importantly, the event gave us a chance to share practical ways we can all be more environmentally sustainable at work, from reducing waste and conserving resources to rethinking how we operate as a healthcare system. It was a great reminder that sustainability in healthcare really is a team effort, and even small steps can make a big difference for our patients, families, and communities. Thank you to everyone who helped organize, participate, and make the event such a success.
Our doctors are not only passionate about the patients and families they serve, but they also bring unique stories, interests and experiences that make them who they are. From surprising hobbies to inspiring journeys, get to know a few faces from Rady Children's Health! #DoctorsDay

This hashtag#HeartMonth, we’re celebrating Ron Ainsworth, our 2025 Kelly Lee Tarantello Outstanding Volunteer. For over 30 years, Ron’s generosity and service have touched countless lives at Rady Children’s Health. Inspired by the care Rady Children’s provided to his late stepdaughter, Kelly—in whose honor this Charley Award is named—Ron has been passionately volunteering in several areas, including our annual Halloween celebration and performing as Santa each holiday season. He also volunteers at the Kelly Lee Tarantello Gift Shop with his wife, Delphine. Ron’s philanthropic impact is felt in every corner of our hospital. Through the Delphine Lee & Ron Ainsworth Cardiac Family Emergency Endowment, families in our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and the Heart Institute receive assistance with essential needs. With humility, Ron embodies everything Kelly lived and breathed—kindness, compassion, and belonging for all.
Rady Children’s Health Orange County is leading California in a groundbreaking approach to treating obstructive sleep apnea in adolescents — including those with Down syndrome ages 13 and older. As the first pediatric hospital in the state to offer this novel implantable therapy for teens who cannot tolerate traditional treatments like CPAP, the program is expanding access to a mask-free, long-term solution. With 17 implants to date and participation in one of only five pediatric centers nationwide involved in post-FDA approval research, the team is helping shape the future of pediatric sleep medicine for children with complex needs. CHOC, now Rady Children’s Health has unveiled its first Associate WellSpace—a thoughtfully designed, biophilic space created to support the emotional and physical well-being of physicians and staff. Inspired by the successful WellSpace initiative in OC schools, this restorative environment offers calming design, mindfulness activities, grounding tools and guided exercises for healthcare professionals. The space was thoughtfully developed in partnership with Design With Purpose and supported by an inaugural gift from the Guido Family.
