Saturday 12th August marked International Youth Day🌍 No Limits, our Employee Resource Group (ERG), ensures age inclusivity for all at Kantar. Chair Mark Whiting shared a few words to acknowledge the occasion. "One in ten of our Kantar colleagues are aged 25 years and under, so the UN's theme of developing the green skills of younger generations is important this year, especially when highlighting the need for environmentally sustainable decisions in the workplace." #WeAreKantar #InternationalYouthDay
Kantar recently launched the 2023 #KantarBrandZ Most Valuable Global Brands report with an online event that attracted 5000 people and worldwide media coverage. Martin Guerrieria, Head of Kantar BrandZ, comments: “While the broader business landscape has been greatly impacted by global macroeconomics, consumers’ view of brands has proved far more stable – the most valuable brands in the world remain as highly regarded as ever. The lessons for brand owners and marketers remain clear; effective marketing investment and long-term thinking are vital to your business’ growth prospects. Those brands consistently investing in establishing strong consumer connections are much better placed to navigate the current volatile conditions and deliver greater resilience for their shareholders.”
On Saturday 1st July, our UK Kantar family marched in the London Pride Parade for the first time. 50 of our people united to support the LGBTQIA+ community in a great display of allyship, friendship and kindness. Kantar recently launched the 2023 #KantarBrandZ Most Valuable Dutch Brands with an event hosted at the A'Dam Tower in Amsterdam. Bram van Schaik, Managing Director Kantar Insights Netherlands, notes, "The top 30 brands in the Netherlands have successfully weathered the challenges of the past two years and returned to pre-pandemic levels. Trust was also a key factor in the growth of this year's rankings, and the brands that demonstrate sustainability, transparency, purpose, and meaningful differentiation will continue to increase their value."

Our Research Operations team in North America recently took advantage of their two paid days a year to volunteer by giving time to support a local safe haven, the West Suburban Community Pantry. Throughout the day, our team of four sorted, stocked and displayed food items for customers to shop. Gina Schlaker, Quality Assurance Manager for Kantar Operations, shared, "Giving a little bit of your time goes a long way to help others. Everyone left the day feeling rewarded and proud that we made a difference."
Our Kantar Prague team recently hosted a Ping Pong Tournament spanning over four weeks. The competition saw 19 colleagues compete in 43 intense matches, culminating in the final game between two great players - Ladislav Sobotka and Kamila. However, there could only be one winner. After an action-packed final, our Ping Pong Champion 2023 was Kamila!🥇
Our Porto Hub team recently took on their first volunteering initiative of the year! The team partnered with Semente Sorridente to plant nearly 350 trees, including oak, cork and arbutus. With beach cleaning next on their volunteering agenda, sustainability remains one crucial area our people are choosing to tackle when taking advantage of their two paid days a year to volunteer with us. Earlier this year, we were awarded the silver sustainability rating by EcoVadis. Pride Month is only a few months away, and so far, we've been busy planning our celebrations that will kick start on 1st June.
