Jill was very familiar with the home as her aunty and daughter have worked there previously, and currently her mum and another daughter work here.
After moving to the UK from Zimbabwe, Netsayi started working in various care homes before applying for a permanent position at MHA Handsworth, her first full time role in care until today Since joining the home, she has progressed from a care assistant to senior care assistant, a role she has been doing for more than 15 years.
Due to personal circumstances Mark had to move back to his home county, but thankfully an MHA home was not too far away 😀
“Working in domiciliary care, it was sometimes very stressful, and you were always moving around, however by working at MHA Hall Grange I now feel I have some stability and regularity."
Joanne Mitchell, activity coordinator at the home created, directed and was also a member of the cast of the pantomime, which went down a treat with the audience.
“The role of an activity coordinator is something I can see becoming more advanced, especially as time progresses and the residents' experiences with technology changes."

We spoke with Karina as part of MHA’s new initiative aiming to shine a spotlight on their senior care assistants and what led them to develop into these roles.
The duo are often working alongside each other but ensure they keep their work/home life separate, including any arguments 😄
