Ladies from our London and Southampton offices also celebrated International Women’s Month! At both events, NICErs heard about our activities dedicated to women, including the Women in Tech committee, and conversations followed about the challenges that women still face today. It was a great time of getting to know one another on a deeper level and creating a strong community of NICE women!
Within the framework of our activities for International Women’s Month, NICErs from our Israel office made their mark by supporting an organization that aids female victims of violence and at-risk girls. Over the last month, our awesome NICErs brought in huge amounts of self-care and hygiene products, cosmetics, toiletries, and clothing. All the items were packed up and are now being sent to women and girls at shelters across the country. We hope that these women and girls will feel the love shared by our NICErs, and that it will give them strength as they recover and rebuild their lives.
The International Women’s Month celebrations continue! Our incredible Hoboken women came together outside the office, and were inspired by fellow NICE women sharing their lengthy and varied career journeys at NICE. Supporting and uplifting each other is what we do at NICE. Our women are stronger together!
Women have a unique ability to nurture and grow – and what better way to showcase this than by creating something beautiful? For International Women’s Month, NICE women from our Singapore team participated in a terrarium workshop where they learned the delicate art of creating miniature gardens. What a perfect way to celebrate the beauty and strength of women!
Work hard, play harder! NICErs from our GTC in India love going for gold together, both in the office and out! This time, they batted it out in a nail-biting Badminton league. With over 400 men and women competing for gold, it was 2 jam-packed days of 250 single and double matches with countless edge-of-your-seat moments and tons of healthy competition. Congrats to all the winners!
In line with our 2023 IWD theme of “Paving My Own Path”, NICErs from around the world enjoyed a truly fascinating session delivered by Colonel Nicole Malachowski, an elite US Air Force fighter pilot, and the first woman pilot on the Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Squadron. Nicole shared inspiring personal stories of how she overcame career challenges, and ultimately, shattered stereotypes and opened the door for women in her male-dominated field. Nicole had lots of life lessons to share, but her biggest piece of advice was this: “Nobody wants to lead a scripted life. Next time a dream seems too big or that path seems too difficult, just remember that it’s okay to dream big, it’s okay to break barriers and it’s okay to go against the status quo. And most of all, it’s okay to accept a certain level of risk for the sake of personal growth. You alone have the power to make or break your own dreams, so don’t let other people’s expectations of what you should or should not be doing dictate your path, and don’t write yourself out of the script”.
International Women’s Month is well and truly here, and we have a massive range of initiatives and activities planned to mark it! Kicking off this month of female empowerment, we hosted a booth at SheTech – a tech conference that exposes teen girls to hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Some 100 girls joined our workshop on “Ethics and Artificial Intelligence”, examining the ethical considerations that arise when implementing AI for self-driving cars. It was a hit all around! It’s no secret that there aren’t enough women in STEM vocations, with 90% of high school girls saying they don’t even know a woman or a role model in a STEM-related role, and moreover, only 15% pursue STEM education. Our NICErs did a great job of introducing the young women to, and exciting them about, technology, and educating them on potential career opportunities in the field in a fun and stimulating way!
We’ve always known that our NICErs are super creative and love thinking outside the box… And here’s the proof! We threw a full on 90s-themed extravaganza at our Israel office to celebrate the festival of Purim (think Halloween, but without the scary stuff)! In true spirit of our 90s throwback theme, our NICErs went all out and really delivered some hella fly looks! From the Power Rangers and ICQ, grungy teens and the Spice Girls, Trolls and the Addams family… We could swear we were taken back in time!
Meet Keren Haas-Tourgeman! Keren joined NICE Actimize in 2014 as a Software Engineer. She advanced to Scrum Master, then Group Lead and, in 2021, took on her current role as R&D Director for Engineering! Here’s what she had to say: “Everything about my career journey at NICE has surprised me. When I started off as a Software Engineer, I loved that my role was very technical. Once I started getting managerial opportunities, I found that I really enjoyed it too! I love the fact that I'm able to have an impact on products, the customers, and the growth of NICE employees as well”. Keep it up, Keren!
How do you make Tu B’Shvat (the "New Year of the Trees") into a fun and exciting work event? Instead of the usual eating dried fruits and planting trees, NICErs in our Israel office celebrated this festival in a way that supports sustainability and ecological awareness! We had it all: • A pop-up shop with over 1,600 items that are not needed by our NICErs – from designer clothes to children’s games and much more – in perfect condition and at super fair prices! • Unlimited vibey music! We invited DJs that have disabilities, who played the hottest tracks to keep the party going. • Delicious desserts that were honestly too beautiful to eat (but we ate them anyway, after taking lots of pictures)! • And a fresh herb pot plant for each NICEr as a take home gift, purchased in support of a local community nursery. Tu B’Shvat has never been more wholesome and FUN!
