Tokio Marine HCC – Cyber & Professional Lines Group today announced an alliance with managed services provider OneIT, Inc. (OneIT) to offer the group’s insureds multi-factor authentication, as well as secure, off-site backup and recovery for their vulnerable data. As the trend toward remote work and the use of personal devices continues, the threat of ransomware attacks is forcing small and medium-sized companies to re-evaluate their data security. A complete cybersecurity strategy must not only focus on defending against attacks, but also on rapid and effective remediation if a breach occurs. “The single most important thing an organization can do to reduce the risk of ransomware is to properly secure remote access into their network. Over half of all ransomware attacks begin with unauthorized remote access to the victim’s network. Multi-factor authentication provides a crucial additional layer of security,” said Michael Palotay, Chief Underwriting Officer of the Cyber & Professional Lines Group.
Tokio Marine HCC – Cyber & Professional Lines Group today announced an arrangement with CrowdStrike, a leader in cloud-delivered endpoint and workload protection, to offer CrowdStrike’s industry-leading endpoint protection to insureds to help customers address the increasing risk of ransomware attacks and other sophisticated threats. The cloud-native CrowdStrike Falcon platform is built to address today’s complex threat landscape, unifying next-generation antivirus (NGAV), endpoint detection and response (EDR), cyber threat intelligence, managed threat hunting capabilities and security hygiene, delivered via a single, lightweight agent. In recent years, cyber criminals have increasingly used targeted ransomware attacks to cripple their victims’ systems, causing considerable economic damage. As the trend toward remote work and the use of personal devices has intensified during 2020, the frequency and severity of these attacks have increased. Often, these sophisticated attacks can bypass a victim’s legacy antivirus protection.
Employees from our Houston office recently celebrated their ninth year sponsoring the back-to-school supply drive for DePelchin Children’s Center, an accredited foster care and adoption agency. Each year, our Houston team sponsors the supply drive and, in years past, some employees even volunteer to pack backpacks with supplies for the kids. In addition to the back-to-school supply drive, the team also supports DePelchin during the holiday season by hosting a toy drive, donating gift cards, and sponsoring the Holiday Project, where community members can sponsor a child and fulfill their holiday wish list. Over the years, Tokio Marine HCC has contributed to providing this incredible organization with more than $65,000, and our employees have personally donated well over $20,000 on top of that, which is a shining example of the difference we can make when we work together.
We look forward to attending the UT Austin Technology & Science Virtual Career Fair and discussing our opportunities for students interested in an actuarial career.
