Your Airbase SDET Interview
This document describes your Airbase engineering interview process and helps you
understand what we expect to learn about you at each stage.
Your interview will consist of the following rounds:
Hiring Manager Connect
This discussion will be centred around getting a comprehensive understanding of your
past work experience, projects, tech stacks, team dynamics etc. and provide you a brief
overview of projects at Airbase.
Technical (Coding / Automation)
You will be given a real world UI workflow to write automated test cases for. You are
expected to have a knack for automating and answer questions related to the
framework they use.
Assignment Assessment (for Sr. SDET only)
You will be given a take-away assignment. You will be expected to come up with a test
plan with P0 test cases for a given UI workflow, create a modular/scalable automation
framework for these test cases. You are also expected to handle scenarios (if
applicable) around login/authentication and maintenance of test data. Bonus points for a
good reporting framework. During assessment and evaluation of the assignment, you
will be asked questions around the choices you’ve made while coming up with the
framework.
Technical (System / Non-Functional)
You will be asked questions around Non functional testing aspects of a project such as
Performance, Security, Reliability, Availability. You will be asked to assess an entire

product or system and devise a comprehensive test plan. There will be discussion
around testing/bug life cycle. Moreover, we’d like to explore your experience with
diverse tools and metrics.

Offer Discussion
In this round, someone from our People’s Team (Talent Acquisition) will walk you
through the details of our offer — cash, bonuses, equity. We specifically want to be
transparent around equity compensation and give you all the information you need to
make an accurate assessment of the value of the equity you’re being granted.
