Approx 5 weeks after submitting my application, I received an email requesting dates/times for a 1 hour interview. I then received an email, with a link to Amazon principles, setting up this initial 1 hour interview and the name of the interviewer. However, I was not given any context - and what was the role of this person in the interview process. I then had an interview, which I believe was a precursor to enter the "loop" full interview process. However, I received a "reject" email about 5 days after this initial interview and that was the end of the process.

Laborious 6 hour "loop" interview based on scenarios to assess alignment with AWS leadership principles, no questions about me or my suitability for the role, impersonal and very robotic. Nobody seemed to have read my CV or know much about me. Nobody mentioned the writing example I had to submit. Got told I didn't get the job as a couple of my answers (from 30 questions) needed to be expanded more. After 6 hours of impersonal interviews, it is easy to not want to expand perfectly on everything. And all they had to do was ask me to expand and I would have. Hated the interview process and I really got put off AWS as the interviews progressed.
