The interview process is built around the sixteen Amazon Leadership Principles - an internet search for "Amazon Leadership Principles" will help you to find and understand each principle. Every interviewer that you speak with, will be asking you to discuss a previous job situation where you demonstrated a specific principle. Important note: the interviewer will not tell you which Leadership Principle they are referencing with the question, however, studying each principle will help you make a judgment, based on the question, of the principle that the question relates. For example, for the leadership principle "Bias for Action", you might get a question, "Tell me about a time when you have worked against tight deadlines and didn't have time to consider all options before making a decision. How much time did you have? What approach did you take?"

While the wording of the question will vary, the question will be based on a specific leadership principle and how you demonstrated this principle in a previous customer or job situation.

The process took around 4 weeks from application to offer. It began with an online assessment focused on logical reasoning and marketing case analysis, followed by two virtual interviews and one final panel with senior managers.
The first round was with HR — mainly behavioral and background questions:
“Tell me about yourself.”
“Describe a campaign you managed and what metrics you used.”
The second round was a functional interview with two marketing managers. They went deep into analytical thinking and creativity — one question was:
They wanted structured thinking, consumer insight, and local market awareness.
The final round was panel-style (3 interviewers). It felt conversational but intense — they probed on cross-functional collaboration, brand guardianship, and how to handle disagreements with senior stakeholders.
Overall impression:
Interviewers were professional, sharp, and respectful. Every question felt intentional, and they genuinely wanted to see how I think rather than test memorized answers. The pace was fast but not stressful.

Recruiter screen. Recruiter prep call. Peer interview call. Then a 5-hour 5-interviewer Loop. I prepared no less than 20 stories from my background aligned to 20+ potential questions they were likely to ask, and I utilized a good 75% of that content which was helpful. Check out YouTube videos on how Amazon hires. Ultimately, recruiter called me back to let me know I would not be receiving an offer. Zero feedback. When I asked the recruiter I was told they do not give feedback as policy.
