Applied on LinkedIN
1. Got email scheduled call, call went great got moved on to next round.
2. Zoom interview with current account manager, went great got moved on to next round.
3. Writing assessment, simple filled it out in 4 hours sent back got back to me next day moved onto next round. At this point I’m amped, this company seems awesome I really want to work here.
4. And then the final, 3-person panel interview with CTO, HR Rep, Sr Account Manager… oh man what a weird experience. Very very corporate, very scripted. Here I am ready to go into details on their projects, case studies and awards and they ask me about my high school experience and my cherished high school memories. I thought I was being punked for real. Anyway powered through this mind-boggling interview and really answered their job-relevant questions well. Told me they would get back to me with an answer by end of week and never did.
That’s fine though. I was so excited to work for this company but after that final interview I am okay with the outcome.

Applied online. got an email the next day requesting a phone call interview. It was a 15 minute phone call went great, got put through to the next round which was a virtual interview with a senior account manager. This also went great and then I was given a take home assignment to do. The assignment was mostly technical questions which luckily I have a background in programming so I answered all questions thoroughly and sent back same day. Got put through to the final in-person interview. I am super excited to work at this company at this point. I hilariously spent my July 4th reviewing all their CMS platforms and case studies, so I was extremely prepared for the interview.
Final Interview time, walk into the conference room and there is an Account Manager director, HR employee and the CTO. I am ready, I prepared for this interview and the first question they ask me? Tell them about my high school experience and my favorite high school memories..... I had a terrible high school experience (over 12 years ago!) and once I portrayed that and how I overcame it the total interview changed. I felt nothing I could say could appease them because I wasn't a popular kid in high school. Literally walked into this interview so prepared for anything technical related or account management related but I quickly realized this was solely to determine if people would fit their culture.
The entire interview was incredibly scripted and awkward, no free-flowing conversation or anything. End up grinding through the interview which I actually think I did pretty well. End of the interview the directors get up to walk out and I stand up to shake their hand and they don't initially shake my hand. I had to kind of force a handshake from a perspective employer.. That was the icing on the cake for me. They said they would get back to me by end of week (this was a Tuesday) ended up getting back to me 2 weeks later. obviously no offer.
I'm still so off-put by this experience.

Initial Phone Screen for the first round interview with an HR Rep then came the second virtual round which was with the director of account management and another HR Rep, this was followed by a writing sample, which was fairly easy and then came the final in person round with the CTO, the director and an HR Rep.
