As others in this thread have mentioned, Ancestry is really bad company to interview for. The company is run by unprofessional people who don't even follow up and work with their candidates. It seems like they interview people for fun to see if they can extract someone from Apple, google to work for them. There is no motivation behind interviewing people. Even if the interview goes excellent, they will either come up with a NO or with a very less salary on the offer. Apparently they are always hiring above 200 people.

The conversation went well and felt engaging. The candidate communicated ideas clearly, showed practical understanding of security concepts, and asked thoughtful questions. Overall, a positive interaction with strong potential for the role.

I met with the hiring manager. Questions were asked around Java and overall background. Followed by meeting with the devs from actual team where I was asked about my background experience as well and technical questions. I was able to asks questions by the end of each interviews.

A Phone call with the recruiter, One round with an engineer and then an onsite (Series of zoom calls) with the team. Pretty straight forward and quick process. Asked a lot of technical questions and very specific questions about past experience, project complexity.
